Our first Annual Gala – RAISE the ROOF!
What says summer better than a party at a farm?
The Library is hosting its first gala on August 15th at Gioia Farm, less than five miles from Hudson. Called “Raise the Roof!, the event includes al fresco cocktails followed by dinner catered by chef Chris Morales with background jazz from Enrico Scull and the Hudson Buskers Band.
A silent auction will feature an assortment of unique offerings for you to choose among.
- Olana’s Associate Curator, Valerie Balint, will conduct a private tour (back rooms included) of Church’s home followed by a picnic basket lunch and wine on the lawn.
- Another item offered is a tour of any of the galleries or special exhibits at the Metropolitan Museum of Art conducted by an expert and followed by a delicious lunch in the Member’s Dining Room overlooking Central Park.
- Need to get away? Bid on a one-week stay at a time-share condo in San Francisco, or two-days in White River Junction at a Vermont Inn. There will be lots more options to bid on.
CAll for the Cause
A unique feature of this gala is the opportunity for Library lovers to invest in some of the key pieces of furniture and computers for our new home at the Armory – like a Preschool Early Literacy Station. Special items will carry a plaque engraved with the donor’s name.
Later in the evening, timed to coordinate with darkening skies and brightening stars, the Kitchen Kaylie Band with caller Anne Banks will switch into high gear. That’s the moment to get out on the dance floor, kick up your heels and Raise the Roof!
